B737 MAX Lion Air

AVIATREN.com - Black box from B737 MAX 8 Lion Air PK-LQP flight JT 610 which crashed in Karawang, West Java, was found on Thursday (1/11/2018) afternoon.

Kompas TV reported that the black box had been carried by the Baruna Jaya I Research Ship belonging to the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT).

The Lion Air JT610 black box was found at around 10:00 Local Time by Marines Hendra Saputra, a member of the Indonesian Navy’s divers team, at a depth of about 30 meters.

Previously reported, the Lion Air JT 610 aircraft intended for Cengkareng-Pangkalpinang lost contact on Monday (10/29/2018) morning. The aircraft carrying around 189 passengers and crew was then confirmed to fall about 13 minutes after takeoff.

The aircraft type is Boieng 737 MAX 8 PK-LQP registration. This aircraft is made in 2018 and has only been operated by Lion Air since 15 August 2018. The aircraft was declared operational worthy.
